Soccer
history
The first success was promotion to the district class in 1957. In the 1980s, the club experienced a sporting boom, behind which the financier Bernard Krone and trainer Siegfried Wolters were. In 1987 the team was promoted to the Weser / Ems regional league . After an exciting duel with Union Lohne , the march into the Lower Saxony-West state league succeeded . In the following years the club established itself in the regional league and reached fifth place in 1989 and 1991 respectively. In 1994 the club qualified for the Lower Saxony League West . The association was also able to establish itself in the Upper House of Lower Saxony. In the 1996/97 season an 11-0 victory over Sportfreunde Oesede could be celebrated. Only in 1998 and 2001 did the team fight relegation. At that time, the club made a name for itself through its youth work and sometimes had up to nine of its own in the squad.
In the mid-2000s, the club fought permanently against relegation, before relegation to the district league followed in 2008. Two years later it went down to the district league, where the direct promotion to the now Landesliga Weser / Ems succeeded. After a fourth place in the 2012/13 promotion season, the Speller made it to the Lower Saxony Oberliga one year later. There the team finished sixth in the 2014/15 season , and even fifth one year later . The highlight was the 2016/17 season , when the team finished third. However, the club had not applied for a license for the Regionalliga Nord . With Sascha Wald, the SCSV provided the top scorer in the league in the 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons .
Even in the 2017/18 season , the club waived a license application for the regional league despite being at the top of the table. The reasons given were organizational reasons and the construction work necessary for the regional league. At the end of the season, the Speller took third place again. In 2019 , the Speller achieved third place for the third time. Merlin Schütte shared the title of top scorer with Justin Dähnenkamp from FC Hagen / Uthlede .
More teams
In the 2017/18 season, the U-23 from SCSV will play in the seventh-class Weser-Ems 3 regional league . Three other teams play at the district level.
