Frank Ordenewitz (born March 25, 1965 in Dorfmark ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Club career

Ordenewitz began his career at TSV Dorfmark . He first played six seasons in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen and then four years for 1. FC Köln . The attacker had won his place in the professional squad of the Bremen team through a scoring season in the third-class amateur league with the Werder amateurs.

After his time in Cologne he was under contract with JEF United Ichihara in Japan for two years . Back in Germany he tried to assert himself at Hamburger SV . He didn't succeed and so the striker moved to Brummell Sendai in the second Japanese division in early 1996 . From there he moved to Rotenburger SV and in 1997 to VfB Oldenburg . After two seasons he went to TSV Ottersberg and then to VSK Osterholz-Scharmbeck , where he ended his career.

Selection bets

On a trip to South America by the German national team in the winter of 1987/88 under team boss Franz Beckenbauer , the former U-21 international made his debut in the DFB's senior team . He made his debut on December 12, 1987 in a 1-1 draw against Brazil and was also used four days later in the 1-0 defeat against Argentina.

Professional career

Since July 1, 2012 he has been employed as head scout for the youngsters at Werder Bremen.

Trivia

In the DFB Cup semi-final between 1. FC Cologne and MSV Duisburg on May 7, 1991 (final score: 3-0 for Cologne), Ordenewitz received the yellow card that would have banned him from the final (against Werder Bremen). Thereupon the Cologne trainer Erich Rutemöller advised him to provoke a dismissal, which Ordenewitz then received five minutes before the end of the game for deliberately knocking the ball away. He could then normally have served the mandatory suspension in a league game. The DFB put a stop to this and subsequently blocked Ordenewitz for the final. Back then, Erich Rutemöller said literally in front of the TV camera: "Otze came to me and I think you shouldn't take his chance, and so I said: 'Do it!'". This request later became, in various modifications, the catchphrase “Mach et, Otze!”.
