Ueslei Raimundo Pereira da Silva , also known as Ueslei (born April 19, 1972 in Salvador ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Ueslei played from 1991 to 1999 for the Brazilian clubs EC Bahia , Guarani FC , Flamengo Rio de Janeiro , Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , FC São Paulo , EC Vitória and Internacional Porto Alegre . In 2000 he moved to Asia . Here he signed a contract with Nagoya Grampus in Japan . The club from Nagoya , a port city in the Japanese prefecture of Aichi on Honshū , played in the highest Japanese league, the J. League Division 1 . In the 2003 season he scored 22 goals and became the league's top scorer . For Nagoya, he completed a total of 114 first division games and scored 81 goals. In 2005 he returned to his homeland. Here he was signed by his former club EC Bahia from Salvador . From July 2005 to December 2005 he was loaned to Atlético Mineiro . He then moved back to Japan on loan. Here he played for Sanfrecce Hiroshima until the end of 2007 . With the club from Hiroshima he played in the first division. In 2007 he was with Hiroshima in the final of the Imperial Cup . The final was lost 2-0 against the Kashima Antlers . At the end of the season, the club had to relegate to the second division. The league competitor Ōita Trinita from Ōita took him under contract in early 2008. In the final of the J. League Cup he stood with Ōita 2008. The final was won 2-0 against Shimizu S-Pulse . At the end of 2009, the club was relegated to the second division. After the end of his contract, he ended his active football career at the end of 2009.
