Leandro Montera da Silva , short Leandro (born February 12, 1985 in São Paulo ), is a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

The 1.76 meter tall striker began his career at the youth club Corinthians São Paulo , where he was under contract from 1993 to 1999. After six years with the club, he moved to Nacional Atlético Clube (SP) , where he was under contract with the youth club until 2004 and in the first division in 2005. In 2005, however, he did not play any league games. In the same year he signed a loan deal with his hometown club São Paulo , with which he, as before, did not take part in league games. He played his first league games in 2006 with the club Ōmiya Ardija , where he was under contract for one season. During this season he completed seven league games and scored one goal. After the season he signed another contract for one year with Montedio Yamagata . In 2006 he took part in 40 league games and scored 23 goals during the season. He was also in two games of the J. League Cup in use and scored four goals.

After the season Leandro moved for two years to the club Vissel Kobe , where he took part in 32 league games and scored 15 goals in the first year. He also played three games in the J. League Cup , where he scored twice. In 2008 he played 25 league games and hit seven passes into the goal. He took part in a league game of the Kaiser Cup and shot twice in the gate and played four games of the J. League Cup with one goal. In two seasons and 57 league games, he was able to score 22 goals.

In his last year in Japan he was under contract with Gamba Osaka , where he played 21 league games in 2009 and scored eleven goals. He also played two goalless games in the J. League Cup and played six games in the Asian Football Confederation , of which he hit ten passes into the goal. After five years in Japan, he moved to Qatar .

In his first season after the move, he first signed a contract with the Rio Branco club , but was bought a short time later by the al-Sadd Sport Club for seven million dollars. In the first season 2010/11 he was under contract for 20 league games and scored 20 goals. He also took part in two goalless games of the Emir of Qatar Cup , four games of the Sheikh Jassim Cup and was able to achieve nine goals and played six games of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), where he scored five goals. In the 2010/11 season he took part in eight league games and scored three times. He also played six goalless AFC games. From 2012 to 2014 he did not play any league games with the club. After two seasons with the club, he signed a contract with the club al-Rayyan SC . During the season he played four league games and scored four goals, as well as five games of the AFC and scored one goal.

In 2012 he was again under contract with the Japanese club Gamba Osaka . For Gamba Osaka, he played 34 league games and scored 27 goals. From 2014 he was under contract with Kashiwa Reysol . In 2015 he returned to Vissel Kobe . He played for Vissel until mid-2018. The second division Tokyo Verdy signed him from July 2018.
