The 2012/13 season was the 23rd season of the women's Bundesliga . The season began on September 2, 2012 and ended with the last match day on May 12, 2013. VfL Wolfsburg won the championship for the first time with a four-point advantage over the defending champions 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . Wolfsburg and Potsdam qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League .

Last year's climber FSV Gütersloh 2009 rose again. Second relegated team was SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , who withdrew from the Bundesliga for financial reasons at the end of the season. Before that, VfL Sindelfingen benefited . The top scorer was Yūki Ōgimi from 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam with 18 goals.

VfL Wolfsburg secured the first championship in the club's history on the last day of the match with a 4-0 win over SC 07 Bad Neuenahr. Here were able to ensure prematurely the "she-wolves" winning the title, but forgave her match points by 0: 2 defeat at 1. FFC Frankfurt and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

FFC Frankfurt had the highest average with 2,301 spectators, while Bayer 04 Leverkusen welcomed the fewest spectators, as in the previous year. Apart from the newcomers, no club was able to increase its average attendance. The FCR 2001 Duisburg suffered the biggest decline with a minus of 56.5 percent.

    39 games were played more than 1,000, 14 in front of more than 2,000 and eight in front of more than 3,000 spectators. The most popular game was the match between VfL Wolfsburg and SC 07 Bad Neuenahr, which was seen by 5,859 spectators. Only 80 spectators wanted to see the game between VfL Sindelfingen and FCR 2001 Duisburg.
