Match ball (sport term)

The match ball ( English match " competition ", "game") is the decisive event for one of the teams or players playing . This applies to ball sports , which are not limited in time. In case of temporary ball sports such as football , hand ball or hockey the competition is finished after a certain time, wherein as a result of a draw as a result can be (with the exception Sudden Death ). In ball sports - such as badminton , squash , tennis , table tennis , volleyball  - there is always a winner , i.e. never a tie (exceptions are team matches in the first four sports). The sporting competition in these ball sports is often divided into smaller sections such as a set or game . The events that determine these parts are synonymous as set ball or cue ball . In badminton these events are called sentence point or game point .
