Eve Chandraratne (born June 20, 1989 in Stuttgart ) is a German soccer player and doctor . Her father is from Sri Lanka and her mother is German.

Football career

The soccer player, who has been active since she was six, made her debut in the Bundesliga with VfL Sindelfingen in 2006 at the age of 16 . From 2006 to 2008 she played in the 2nd Bundesliga . Immediately after graduating from high school in Fellbach near Stuttgart in 2008, she signed a contract with VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. For the 2013/14 season she moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga BV Cloppenburg .

Chandraratne has been part of the German U-National team since 2005. She scored two goals in 16 U-17 to U-19 internationals from 2005 to 2008. In France, she took third place with the German national team at the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2008 . Also in 2008 she won the regional cup with the Württemberg selection and has been a permanent member of the U-23 women's national team since 2010. She can still play for the senior national team of Sri Lanka because she has not played any games with Germany in this category.

Personal history

Parallel to the football career at VfL Wolfsburg Chandraratne was in 2008 at the Hannover Medical School in the study of human medicine enrolled. She completed her practical year in the St. Josefs Hospital in Cloppenburg . Eve Chandraratne has been a doctor since November 18, 2014 and received her PhD in 2016 .

The classically trained pianist started her musical career at the age of four, was a multiple participant in the nationwide competition “ Jugend musiziert ” and in 2004 won the 1st Federal Prize in the same competition. Chandraratne has been creating his own compositions since 2009 .
