The 2004/05 Bundesliga was the 15th season of the women's Bundesliga . 1. FFC Frankfurt became champions for the fifth time .

The course of the season

The season saw the expected head-to-head race between the defending champion, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam and 1. FFC Frankfurt . On the 3rd match day, the Frankfurt women set an exclamation point with a 5-2 victory in Potsdam. The preliminary decision was made in the second meeting of the two teams on matchday 14 in Frankfurt. After an exciting game, the hosts got the upper hand 2-1. After that the 1. FFC Frankfurt showed no more nakedness and became the sovereign champions, while the Potsdam women could only win one point from the last three games and even fell behind FCR 2001 Duisburg to third.

The best goalscorer of the season was Shelley Thompson from FCR 2001 Duisburg with 30 goals. In the 7-0 win at FSV Frankfurt she scored five goals alone. Her teammate Inka Grings even scored six goals in the 8-0 win at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr . A total of 523 goals were scored, 37 fewer than in the previous season. The average goals fell from 4.24 to 3.96.
