history
First team
In 1970 the women's football department of Hamburger SV was founded. In the seventies and eighties it was in the shadow of clubs like FTSV Lorbeer Rothenburgsort or FSV Harburg . In 1975 the women's team became Hamburg champions for the first time and in 1990, after winning the Hamburg championship again, they rose to the Oberliga Nord , at that time the second-highest division. In the major league, with a few exceptions, she always achieved top placements. In 1997 she took part as runner-up in the promotion round to the Bundesliga , where she was second behind Fortuna Sachsenroß Hannover . However, because Hanover decided not to participate in the Bundesliga, HSV moved up. In the first Bundesliga season, the team was last and relegated. Then the club was three times in a row champions of the Regionalliga Nord, but could not prevail until 2001 in the promotion round. In the 2001/02 season they were relegated directly, but reached the final of the DFB Cup , in which HSV lost 5-0 to 1. FFC Frankfurt . In 2003 HSV was again champion of the Regionalliga Nord and achieved promotion to the Bundesliga in the promotion round. In the 2003/04 season , the team reached sixth place in the table and the final of the indoor cup , in which they lost 1-0 to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . In the following years the team established itself in the Bundesliga and achieved fourth place in the 2010/11 season, the best placement in the club's history. After the 2011/12 season, the team was withdrawn from the Bundesliga and then played in the Regionalliga Nord. After four years in the Regionalliga Nord, the team was relegated to the Verbandsliga Hamburg in the 2015/16 season. There, the Hamburg women were runner-up behind TSV Wellingsbüttel in 2018 . A year later, HSV secured the championship without losing points. In the promotion round to Regionalliga Nord, the team prevailed 4-0 and 2-0 against ATS Buntentor and returned to the Regionalliga.
More teams
The second team rose to the Regionalliga Nord in 2003 and qualified for the newly introduced 2nd Bundesliga in 2004 , but was relegated again after just one season. After the direct promotion , she was runner- up in the 2006/07 season and was then able to establish herself in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2010/11 season she was second division champion, but withdrew to the regional league after the end of the season for financial reasons. After the first team withdrew to the Regionalliga 2012, the second team played in the Association League Hamburg in the 2012/13 season and was relegated to the Landesliga Hamburg.
The third team became champions of the Association League Hamburg in 2010 and took fourth place in the Regionalliga Nord in the 2010/11 season. After the second team withdrew to the regional league in 2011, she played in the 2011/12 season in the Hamburg Association's league and since the first team withdrew to the regional league in 2012, she has been participating in special-class games.
