history

The then regional league team Wittenseer SV-TUS Felde dissolved its women's football department in 2004 and applied to the SHFV for the "transfer of status" to Holstein Kiel . Together with the women's football department of TSV Schilksee (trainer Heinz Siebolds) should be represented in the Regionalliga Holstein Kiel. The Holstein Kiel board of directors agreed with a 4: 3 vote, although the soccer players were initially not run as a department, but as a "Holstein Woman" project. Since the name of the team was based on a local magazine, "Woman" was the correct name for the team instead of "Women". This was later changed to the correct English spelling "Women". The team was initially strengthened by a few players from the second team of Hamburger SV , who heard about the "Holstein Woman" project and returned from Hamburg to their old place of residence in Kiel.

In the first 2004/05 season, the Holstein Women were instant champions of the Regionalliga Nord. In addition, the team won the Schleswig-Holstein Cup and the second team made it to the Schleswig-Holstein Association League. With Nina Jokuschies, the Holstein Women also produced a U-19 junior national player who became world champion with the national team in Thailand in 2004.

After the good first second division season 2005/06, the "Holstein Women" were integrated into the amateur division of KSV Holstein. Thus the project status was dropped and the "Holstein Women" became an official department of KSV Holstein. After four years of being able to stay in the 2nd league with confidence, the 2009/10 season ended in 10th place in the table. So you had to go into the relegation and met FFC Wacker Munich , the tenth place in the southern season. After a 0-0 win in the first leg in Munich, a 1-0 home win won the relegation and remained in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2010/11 season, however, the relegation could not be prevented and the team rose after six years in the second division in the third division Regionalliga Nord. After a year in the third division in the 2011/12 season, the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga North succeeded, but the team was relegated again in the following season. After being promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga again in 2014, two years later they were relegated to the regional league again. At the end of April 2018 there were plans to incorporate the women's football department into VfB Kiel for the 2018/19 season for financial reasons . However, these plans were withdrawn and a further collaboration was agreed.

youth

In addition to the first and second women's teams, the B-Juniors play in the B-Juniors Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein. There are currently no other junior teams, until 2016 there was a U15 team. The B-Juniors won the Schleswig-Holstein League seasons in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. As a result, the B-Juniors qualified for the North German Championship, which they won in 2008 against the B-Juniors from Werder Bremen. Four times they failed in the final and became North German runner-up. By winning the North German Championship in 2008, the B-Juniors also qualified for the German B-Junior Championship, in which they failed in the qualifying round. In 2012 the B-Juniors won the Gütersloh Hallenmasters , the unofficial German indoor championship. From 2012 to 2016 the B-Juniors played in the B-Juniors Bundesliga .

The "Holstein Women" are generally very cooperation-friendly and pursue the goal of further promoting and supporting women's / girls' football in the country. In the past, the association, in cooperation with the Post and Telecom Sports Club Kronshagen / Kiel, promoted girls 'football in age groups D and E. At the local level, the girls' teams took part in friendly matches.
