The 2009/10 season was the sixth season of the women's second division . The start of the season was scheduled for September 20, 2009. The last game day took place on May 16, 2010. The relegation games of the third-bottom were scheduled for May 24th and 30th, 2010.

The women's and girls' soccer division of FC Gütersloh 2000 founded an independent club, FSV Gütersloh, in 2009 . The champions of Regionalliga West , FFC Brauweiler Pulheim , joined 1. FC Köln on July 1, 2009 . The SG Wattenscheid 09 switched from the south to the north group.

The relegation ranks were occupied by Wattenscheid 09 and Blau-Weiß Hohen Neuendorf . Wattenscheid did not appear at Werder Bremen on the penultimate matchday . The DFB rated the game 2-0 for Bremen and sentenced Wattenscheid to a fine of 2,000 euros .
