The 2004/05 season was the first season of the women's second division . The season began on September 5, 2004 and ended on May 22, 2005. The first season was dominated by the two newcomers, FFC Brauweiler Pulheim 2000 in the north and VfL Sindelfingen in the south. While Brauweiler managed to rise again immediately, the Württemberg women returned to the House of Lords after eight years.
The season
For a long time, Tennis Borussia Berlin was able to keep the title race open in the northern group. Ultimately, you failed because of your own weakness. Both games against Brauweiler were lost. Surprisingly, third place went to Jahn Calden. Wattenscheid, Potsdam II and FC Gütersloh found themselves behind the top trio. The East Westphalians were the only club that did not lose to Brauweiler and provided a U-19 world champion in Lena Goeßling . Barley, Timmel and Lütgendortmund followed a little further. The second surprise of the season was the final sprint of MTV Wolfenbüttel. For a long time the Lower Saxons were in last place. In the second half of the season, they became a frightening favorite and reached the safe shore. One also benefited from the collapse of the HSV reserve. The last was the SpVgg Oberaußem-Fortuna, which could only get four points.
In the south, VfL Sindelfingen benefited from the lack of constancy of the relegated 1. FC Saarbrücken. Overall, the southern group was more balanced than the north. The relegation battle was dramatic. Aue, Karlsruhe and Jungingen crossed the finish line with the same number of points. Due to the worse goal difference, the Ulm suburbs had to go into the third class. The young women were accompanied by Lok Leipzig, who lost contact with the non-relegation places early on.
Holstein Kiel, FFV Neubrandenburg, TuS Köln rrh rose from the third division. (Successor of the record champions SSG Bergisch Gladbach), the TuS Niederkirchen (German champions 1993) and the second team of the VfL Sindelfingen.

Promotion lap
The champions of the four regional leagues rose automatically : Holstein Kiel ( North ), FFV Neubrandenburg ( Northeast ), TuS Köln rrh. ( West ) and TuS Niederkirchen ( Southwest ).
Since the South German Football Association has no regional league, the champions of the Oberligen Hessen, Baden-Württemberg and Bayernliga had to play a promotion round. From the Bayernliga only SV 67 Weinberg had applied for a license for the 2nd Bundesliga. Weinberg finished the Bayern League season in third place. Since only the champion or the runner-up is eligible for promotion, the Bayernliga did not send a team into the promotion round. This left only Germania Wiesbaden (Hessen) and VfL Sindelfingen II (Baden-Württemberg). Both clubs determined the promoted team in the first and second leg.
The games took place on June 12th and 18th, 2005.
total | First leg | Return leg | ||
