The 2018/19 season was the 15th season of the 2. Bundesliga in women's football and the first as a single-track league. The season began on August 19, 2018 and ended with the last match day on May 19, 2019. The promotion games to the 2nd Bundesliga are scheduled for May 26 and June 2, 2019. The champions and runners-up are promoted to the Bundesliga , while the last three teams are relegated to the regional league.

The champions were the second team of FC Bayern Munich before the second team of VfL Wolfsburg . Since both teams are not allowed to move up , 1. FC Köln and FF USV Jena came third and fourth respectively. The relegation places were occupied by SGS Essen II , FSV Hessen Wetzlar and SV 67 Weinberg . The top scorer was Julia Matuschewski from 1. FC Saarbrücken with 20 goals.
