The SV Jungingen ( full name: Sportverein Jungingen 1946 eV ) is a sports club from the district of the same name in the city of Ulm . The association was founded on April 1, 1946 and currently has around 1,750 members. The women's basketball team (regional league) and the women's football department are sporty figureheads . Their first team last played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 2014/15 .
The club has had its own sports club center JuFit with fitness and health sports courses since the end of 2017.
basketball
The basketball department was founded in 1993 and since then has been participating in games with men's and women's teams under the name Jungingen Roosters. The women's team played in the league for several years - the top division in Baden-Württemberg.
Soccer
In 1978 a women's soccer team was founded. In the first few years only friendlies were played before the first point games followed in 1981. The first success was promotion to the district relay in 1988. In 1996 the team was promoted to the Württemberg Association League. This was followed by promotions to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 2000 and further to the Regionalliga Süd in 2002. In the Regionalliga, the team was runner-up twice in a row. In 2004 the club was one of the founding members of the 2nd Bundesliga .
The season in the 2nd Bundesliga was unfortunate. On the last day of the match, the team won 4-1 against Karlsruher SC , but had to be relegated due to the poorer goal difference compared to the same points FC Erzgebirge Aue and Karlsruher SC. The strongly rejuvenated team rose again from the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in the following season. In the 2005/06 season, SV Jungingen played in the DFB Cup for the only time so far . But they failed in the first round at FC Erzgebirge Aue. In the 2012/13 season, the women's team won the association league and will play in the major league again from the 2013/14 season. In 2014/15 he was relegated to the Württemberg Association League.
