history

The women's football division was launched in August 1977. 1983 celebrated the championship of the 1st district class and promotion to the district league. Just in time for the tenth anniversary, they became champions of the district league and rose to the district class. In 1989 one rose to the district league, 1992 in the state league and 1997 in the Lower Saxony league. In 2001 they became Lower Saxony champions for the first time and made it to the Regionalliga Nord . The SuS Timmel has belonged to this class since the 2nd Bundesliga was founded in 2004. After the near relegation in 2006 , the team had to make their way to the regional league a year later. After three years in the regional league, he was relegated to the Lower Saxony West league in 2010.

After almost the entire team had left the club in the summer of 2010, the league could not be held, so that the club was relegated again and passed through to the district league in the 2011/12 season. Since the club continued to struggle with personnel problems there, the last remaining team was completely withdrawn from the game in winter 2012. For the 2012/13 season, another team was reported to play in cooperation with SV Wallinghausen . The game community SG Timmel / Wallinghausen / Hinrichsfehn currently plays in the district league. From the 2016/2017 season, a cooperation with the clubs SV Warsingsfehn, VfL Fortuna Veenhusen and SV Nortmoor to form SG Timmel / Moormerland / Nortmoor (TiMoNo) was agreed. The first women's team is currently playing in the regional league and the reserve in the East Frisian league. The third team plays in East Friesland Class B.
