Imke Wübbenhorst (born December 10, 1988 in Aurich ) is a German soccer player and trainer .
Career
Player
Wübbenhorst began her career at SV Wallinghausen. Since there were no girls 'teams in the region, she played in boys' teams until she was 16. In the 2004/05 season she played for the second division club SuS Timmel . On the advice of the coach of the DFB junior teams, she moved to the Bundesliga club Hamburger SV in summer 2005 . She turned down offers from the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam and the 1st FFC Frankfurt . With the U-19 national team, she was European champion in 2006 and 2007. For the 2011/12 season she moved to the second division club BV Cloppenburg, with whom she rose to the Bundesliga as the season winner North in the following season . From July to October 2015 she was under contract with the Spanish Cup winner from 2015 Sporting Huelva ; she then returned to BV Cloppenburg. On April 18, 2018, Wübbenhorst made her comeback with the BV Cloppenburg women's team in the 2nd women's division .

From 2016 to 2018 Wübbenhorst was playing assistant coach for the second division club BV Cloppenburg, and for the 2018/19 season she moved up to the position of head coach. In December 2018, Wübbenhorst took over the management of the men's team at BV Cloppenburg in the Lower Saxony Oberliga , after the previous head coach Olaf Blancke had migrated to league competitor Atlas Delmenhorst . She was the first coach of a German men's team on such a high level and this aroused a lot of media attention. On March 28, 2019, it was announced that she was stepping down from her coaching position at the beginning of the summer break. She finished the season with Cloppenburg in last place, the team was relegated to the Landesliga Weser-Ems .
On May 26, 2019, Wübbenhorst began her training as a football teacher at the Hennes-Weisweiler Academy in Hennef .
On April 17, 2020, Wübbenhorst became a trainer at Sportfreunde Lotte during the season break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic . After Inka Grings at SV Straelen in April 2019, she is the second coach to train a German fourth division soccer team in the men's division. She received a contract that ran until the end of the 2022 season.

Wübbenhorst is a teacher for sport and biology at the Bad Zwischenahn- Edewecht high school . Before that, she taught at the Liebfrauenschule in Cloppenburg.
