Leon Demaj (born November 28, 1997 in Haselünne ) is a German football player of Kosovar descent.

Career

Midfielder Leon Demaj started his career at VfL Herzlake and moved to the youth department of SV Meppen in 2011 . In the 2014/15 season Demaj played with the Meppeners in the A-Juniors Bundesliga , and his team was relegated from bottom of the table. At the end of the season Demaj switched to the A-youth team of BV Cloppenburg and then moved up to the first team of the "Zebras" in the summer of 2016, which at the time played in the Lower Saxony Oberliga . In summer 2017 Demaj then returned to SV Meppen, who had just been promoted to the 3rd division . He made his professional debut on October 14, 2017 in Meppen's 1-0 victory at SV Wehen Wiesbaden . In two years there were three more third division appearances for him, mostly Demaj played for the second team of the SVM in the district league.

In the summer of 2019, the midfielder signed a one-year contract with Sportfreunde Lotte, who had been relegated to the Regionalliga West .
