Founded in 2004 until the 2006 World Cup

The academy was founded in Nuremberg in October 2004 . At the founding event test game were u. a. Until the 2011 Women's World Cup

Since 2012

In 2016, the academy was also involved in the Nuremberg city tours and, together with the book author Matthias Hunger, offered football culture tours for the first time. The city ​​tours are an annual event that gives the public the opportunity to get to know the city in a different way.

Program and task

The academy regularly offers public events on a wide variety of football culture topics . The spectrum of events is diverse and includes lectures, panel discussions, exhibitions, readings and - in cooperation with other institutions - also multi-day specialist conferences. A public viewing will be offered in Nuremberg for world and European championships .

In addition, the academy sees itself as a contact exchange and an information pool for players from football and culture. The most important instrument for this is the website that went live in April 2006.
