Jürgen Rollmann (born October 17, 1966 in Gelnhausen ) is a German certified journalist and football manager as well as a former football professional .
Life
Jürgen Rollmann was born on October 17, 1966 in Gelnhausen. He grew up in Büdingen - Lorbach . He attended the Wolfgang-Ernst-Gymnasium in Büdingen.
He has been married since 1992 and has two children.
Soccer
After three years in the then third-class league with Kickers Offenbach , TSV 1860 Munich and FSV Frankfurt , he received his first licensed player contract in 1988 with the then German champions Werder Bremen . From 1992 to 1995 he played for MSV Duisburg and then again for Werder Bremen, where he was an amateur in the professional squad , but only played five games for the regional league team. During the 1995/96 season he moved to FC Augsburg in the Regionalliga, where he stayed until 1997. Later he was still in goal at SV Lohhof in the Bayern League .
From 1992 to 1994 he was Vice President and from 1994 to 1996 President of the Players' Union (VdV) .
Success as a player
- 1986: Champion of the Oberliga Hessen with Kickers Offenbach
- 1989 and 1990: Second place in the DFB Cup with SV Werder Bremen
- 1991: German cup winner with SV Werder Bremen
- 1992: Winner of the 1992 European Cup Winners' Cup with SV Werder Bremen
- 1993: Promotion to the first division with MSV Duisburg
Further career
Rollmann has been working as a journalist, author and radio speaker since 1985. In Munich, he studied political and communication science , sociology and social psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University and is a graduate of the German School of Journalism (DJS).
From 1999 to 2000 he was manager of FC Augsburg and headed the office for one year. From 2000 to 2003 he was press spokesman for BayernSPD .
From 2003 to 2006, Rollmann was the federal government's coordinator for the 2006 soccer World Cup and head of a staff unit in the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI).
In October 2012 he succeeded Manfred Paula as manager of FC Augsburg. Around three months later, FC Augsburg and Rollmann separated. His successor in Augsburg was Stefan Reuter . In summer 2013, FC Augsburg and Rollmann agreed to terminate the contract by mutual agreement. Rollmann is an appointed member of the German Academy for Football Culture .
