Lorbach is a district of Büdingen in the Wetterau district in Hesse .
Geographical location
Lorbach is two kilometers southwest of the city center of Büdingen. In the south-west of the district is Herrnhaag , a settlement of the Moravian Brethren founded in 1738 by Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf . The Hardeck castle ruins can be found on the wooded summit of the 296 meter high Hardeck in the west of the district .
history
The place Larbach is mentioned on November 5th, 775 in the Lorsch Codex . It is a gift from a man named Egilbert, who gave the Lorsch Monastery for the salvation of Hiltrud 8 Joch farmland for perpetual possession.
The next documentary evidence from Larbach relates to the year 1232 in connection with the appointment of a pastor in the local parish. In 1787 Lorbach was part of the Isenburg-Büdingen county .
On the occasion of the regional reform in Hesse , the municipality of Lorbach joined the city of Büdingen at the same time as other municipalities on December 31, 1971.

The coat of arms was adopted on June 13, 2014 by the city council of Büdingen according to § 14 Hessische Gemeindeordnung (HGO) as the coat of arms of the district of Lorbach.
