Orleshausen is a district of Büdingen in the Wetterau district .

location

Orleshausen is three kilometers west of Büdingen on the Seemenbachaue.

history

The first documentary mention of Orleshausen comes from a miracle protocol for the canonization of the Thuringian Landgrave Elisabeth from the autumn of 1232. There the place name is documented as Orleibeshusen . The place name is probably derived from the early medieval Frankish settlement, to which the part of the name "-hausen" indicates. The personal name "Ortlip" is connected here with the suffix "hausen". Ortlip transfers ownership in Düdelsheim to the Fulda monastery between 750 and 802.

On December 31, 1971 Orleshausen was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
