Vonhausen is a district of Büdingen in the Wetteraukreis in the Büdinger Forest and is located directly on the border with the Main-Kinzig district to the south .

geography

Vonhausen is four kilometers south of Büdingen. The Fallbach rises near the village and winds its way south to Hanau, where it flows into the Kinzig .

The federal highway 457 runs directly to the east past the place, but has a 300 meter long connection to the village.

history

middle Ages

The place was originally owned by the Counts of Weilnau and only later came to Isenburg-Büdingen . Located directly at the entrance to the Büdinger Reichswald , the place was of increased importance as a resting place. Vonhausen was first mentioned in a document on August 2, 1261 as Vonhaussen . Provost and convent of the Konradsdorf Monastery sold goods to the nuns at “Haug” in Vonhausen. In addition, the monks exchanged the mill at Wolf for goods at Lorbach .

In 1276, King Rudolf I granted Count Heinrich von Weilnau a Gelnhausen castle fief . He set as pledge for it u. a. Income from the royal customs of Gelnhausen and "Vaenhusen."

Other forms of name are:

  • 1380 Fahenhusen,
  • Fohenhusen and Wehus.
  • At the end of the 16th century, facilities were shared with the town of Hain-Gründau ( also in Isenburg), located to the south-east of what is now the district boundary (it also shared facilities with its neighboring town of Gettenbach ).
  • Diebach am Haag, Lorbach and Vonhausen have formed the parish on the ("Haugk") Hague since time immemorial. For continuation see under Evangelical Church in Herrnhaag .
  • On December 31, 1971 Vonhausen was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
