Friedrich Battenberg
Johannes Friedrich Battenberg (born July 3, 1946 in Erbach ) is a German lawyer , historian and archivist .
Life
Friedrich Battenberg studied law at the University of Frankfurt . The second state examination was followed by a doctorate (1973) and later the habilitation at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg (1984). From 1974 to 1976 he completed the archival preparatory service at the archive school in Marburg and then found a job at the Hessian State Archives in Darmstadt ; from 1997 until his retirement in 2011 he was in charge of it.
Since 1990, Battenberg has also been an adjunct professor for Middle and Modern History at the Technical University of Darmstadt and since 2008 a member of the main committee of the Historical Commission for Hesse
He is also a member of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district council and spokesman for the Christian working group at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .
