Wolf is a district of Büdingen in the Wetterau district in southern Hesse .

Wolf is located two and a half kilometers northwest of Büdingen and ten kilometers west of Rinderbügen.

history

The first written mention was in 1259 . At that time an Ulricus de Wolfaha (Ulrich von Wolf) was called. The name probably derives from the settlement before 500 BC. As "Wolfaha" from. The ending "-aha" (as well as "-ehe") describes very old pre-Franconian settlement areas in the valleys of waters (there: Wolfsbach).

On December 31, 1971, Wolf was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
