Aulendiebach is a district of Büdingens in the Wetterau district .
location
Aulendiebach is four kilometers northwest of Büdingen. The district also includes the Am Reutzelswäldchen settlement one kilometer northeast of Aulendiebach.
history
Aulendiebach is an old pottery village (aul - ul = pot), Diet (= people) and Bach. Larger archaeological finds have shown that Aulendiebach was the home of the pottery industry.
The place was first mentioned on August 6, 1270 as Catzendybach ( Katzendiebach ). In 1403, on April 20th, the place was mentioned as Aulendiebach. When "Diebach" was mentioned on February 3, 1333, it is not clear which of the two places is meant.
Until 1601 the village belonged to the bishopric villages . In 1820 Aulendiebach came to the Büdingen district , in 1822 to the Büdingen district , 1848 to the Nidda district and in 1852 to the Büdingen district . Court the village belonged since 1822 to the District Court Büdingen and since 1879 the District Court Büdingen .
On December 31, 1971, Aulendiebach was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
The church, originally a St. Gerolf's chapel, dates back to the 14th century for the most part. The extensive defensive walls still underline its character as a fortified church .

Local advisory board
With the municipal territorial reform in Hesse in 1972, the previously independent municipality of Aulendiebach became part of the city of Büdingen. The main statute of the city has since regulated that a local advisory board is set up in Aulendiebach (as in the other 15 districts). The local advisory board consists of five members. The members of the local advisory board are elected for a five-year term in the local elections in Hesse .
Mayor
The mayor is elected by the members of the local council from among its members. Eberhard Hensel has been the head of the district since September 7, 2017. His predecessor was Wolfgang Altenburg from May 19, 2016 to August 31, 2017. Its predecessor was Norbert Lott from December 1, 1999 to April 18, 2016. Lott was awarded the honorary title of Honorary Mayor for his more than 25 years of voluntary work on the Aulendiebach local advisory board in the special session of the city council on June 29, 2016 . Jochen Henkel was the mayor from 1991 to 1999. The last mayor of the independent community of Aulendiebach was Hermann Wittig from 1964 to 1971 (* June 25, 1921 ; † July 15, 2003 ). Immediately afterwards Wittig was mayor until March 24, 1991. Wittig was awarded the honorary title of community elder when he left office in 1991 .
