history

Overview of Diebach. In the background on the right the Pfaffenwald in Büdingen and the Hoherodskopf. Location: Keep of Ronneburg Castle

The first documentary mention was on September 13, 1269 as Diepach. Ludwig von Isenburg and his wife Heilwig confess on this day that they sold goods to the nuns at “Haug” in Diebach am Haag and Büdingen. However, there is also a document dated September 6, 1260. The date is tw. doubted because the content is the same.

Diebach originally consisted of two parts: Ober-Diebach and Unter-Diebach, which belonged to Eckartshausen ( districts Eckartshaeusergerichtswald, Diebach am Haag, Ronneburg and Altwiedermus ). The “old road” between Fulda and Frankfurt ran right through Unter-Diebach.

Diebach am Haag, Lorbach and Vonhausen have formed the parish on the ("Haugk") Hague since time immemorial. For continuation see under Evangelical Church in Herrnhaag .

On December 31, 1971 Diebach am Haag was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
