The Ronneburg Castle

Altwiedermus is a part of the municipality of Ronneburg in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district .
Geographical location
Altwiedermus is located in the Ronneburg hill country on the right-hand western side of the Fallbach . On the northern outskirts to meet state roads 3189 and 3193. Approximately 700 meters northeast of the center rises beyond the case of Bach, the Castle Ronneburg . And about 600 meters southeast of the town center, also on the other side of the stream, lies the neighboring town of Neuwiedermuß . Both places have grown together structurally along Hanauer Strasse .
history
The Antsanvia , an old road , ran over the heights between Langen-Bergheim and Altwiedermus and further over Diebach am Haag and Herrnhaag . The place is first mentioned in 1173. The place name had different historical forms: Wechtramis, Witteroms and Wyderamis . In 1236 a refugee castle , today's Ronneburg Castle , was mentioned.
From the 18th century to 1933 there was a Jewish community in the village.
From 1874 to 1972 Altwiedermus belonged to the Büdingen district , which was largely absorbed into the Wetterau district. Thus it belonged to the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt in the 19th century . That is why the place name is written with an "s" at the end, while Neuwiedermuß and Hüttengesäß , which have belonged to Prussia since the war of 1866 , are written with the Prussian "ß".
Ecclesiastically, Altwiedermus belongs to Eckartshausen .
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , Altwiedermus was incorporated into the municipality of Ronneburg in the Hanau district on August 1, 1972 by virtue of state law . On July 1, 1974, the community of Ronneburg and the district of Hanau moved to the Main-Kinzig district.
Economy and Infrastructure
- Altwiedermus does not have any supply infrastructure, such as bakers, butchers, pubs or restaurants.
- Some businesses (several bakers and butchers, as well as a "rolling supermarket") supply the (mostly older and less mobile) residents with the relevant goods.
- In Altwiedermus, however, companies from various industries are located. So z. B. a car dealership and an independent car workshop, furthermore a company for precision mechanics, a computer service and a company for insect screens.
