Calbach is a district of Büdingen in the Wetterau district .

location

Calbach is 4.5 km southwest of Büdingen. The Krebsbach (Fallbach) , which flows through Calbach, rises in the Calbacher Köhlerwald and flows into the Kinzig southwest of Bruchköbel near Hanau .

history

Calbach was first mentioned in a document on July 10, 1437.

The village belonged to the "divided" settlements in the eastern Wetterau. The left side of the village belonged from ancient times to the Mark and the Büdingen court, the right to the Glauberg / Ortenberg court . Until 1712 the dead were buried in Büdingen at the St. Remigius Church , those from the right in Düdelsheim in the parish cemetery . Until 1711 the children also attended schools in Büdingen and those in Düdelsheim.

On December 31, 1971, Calbach was incorporated into the city of Büdingen.
