Manfred Paula (born October 21, 1964 in Regensburg ) is a German football function and coach.

Paula graduated from the Deutschherren-Gymnasium in Aichach in 1983 and then went to the German Armed Forces as a temporary soldier for two years, where he belonged to the Biathlon sports promotion group. From 1985 he studied business administration at the University of Augsburg , in 1986 he moved to the University of Bayreuth , where he completed a degree in sports economics in 1991. From 1990 he worked as a freelancer in the PR department at Audi . From 1993 to 2001 he worked for companies in the fields of marketing and advertising as well as a management consultant. He then worked for DAB Bank until 2005 .

In September 2004 Paula, who played as an active player in the regional league as well as in the regional league at SSV Petersdorf, took over the position of head coach at the Bayern league club TSV Aindling . From December 2005 to October 2007 Paula was Sporting Director at FC Ingolstadt 04 , which rose from the Bayern League to the Regionalliga Süd in the 2005/06 season .

In 2007 he completed his training as a soccer teacher under Erich Rutemöller . From November 2007 to June 2009 he was again the coach of the Bayern division TSV Aindling. For the 2009/10 season he took over the regional league team SSV Ulm 1846 as the successor to Markus Gisdol . After eight league games - the SSV had ten points - Paula resigned. From July 2010 to June 2011 he coached TSV Aindling for the third time in the Bayernliga.

On July 1, 2011, Paula took over the management of the youth performance center at FC Augsburg . From July 2012 he succeeded Andreas Rettig as “Manager Sport” and was responsible for the Bundesliga team. On October 8, 2012, he was replaced as manager by Jürgen Rollmann and switched back to the junior division. In mid-2015 he left FC Augsburg because he wanted to devote himself to a new professional task.

Since February 15, 2016 Paula has been the head of the youth performance center at 1. FC Kaiserslautern . From June to August 2017 he was also a member of a "sports committee" that took over the tasks of the resigned sports director Uwe Stöver . In September 2017 Paula was the interim coach of the second division team of 1. FC Kaiserslautern for a week and stood on the sidelines together with assistant coach Alexander Bugera in a league game (0: 5 at 1. FC Union Berlin ).
