Katja Kraus (born November 23, 1970 in Offenbach am Main ) is a former German soccer player and soccer official.

Career as a soccer player

Kraus played from 1986 to 1998 as a goalkeeper for FSV Frankfurt and played 220 games in the Bundesliga . She was three times German champion (1986, 1995, 1998) and four times German cup winner (1990, 1992, 1995, 1996).

Between 1995 and 1997 she was used in seven games of the German national team. She became vice-world champion and European champion in 1995 and was a substitute for the 1996 Olympic Games .

Professional career

Kraus studied German and Politics in Frankfurt am Main from 1990 to 1996 . From 1997 to 1998 she worked in the PR department of Adidas and from 1998 to 2003 as press spokeswoman for Eintracht Frankfurt . On March 16, 2003, she became a member of the board of directors for marketing and communication at Hamburger SV . On December 16, 2007, her contract was prematurely extended to December 31, 2011. From February 2010 she was the second chairwoman of Hamburger SV. On March 7, 2011, the Supervisory Board decided not to extend her contract. On March 16, 2011, the employment contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Then she began to write non-fiction as a writer. In 2013 the book Macht - stories of success and failure was published and in 2015 friendship - stories of closeness and distance .

Since July 2013 she has been managing partner of the sports marketing agency Jung von Matt / sports and since May 2014 a member of the Adidas supervisory board.

Kraus is a member of the German Academy for Football Culture . From 2013 to 2016 she supported the award of the Football Book of the Year of the German Football Culture Prize as a member of the jury .

Private

Kraus is in a relationship with the former State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Defense , Katrin Suder . At the beginning of March 2017, she and Suder registered a civil partnership. You have three children.
