Philipp Koester
Philipp Köster (born April 4, 1972 in Bobingen , Bavaria ) is a German journalist and author . He is the founder, managing director and editor-in-chief of the soccer magazine 11 Freunde .
Life
Philipp Köster grew up in Bielefeld as the son of a professor for Catholic theology and was early active in the journalistic field. So he gave along with Reinaldo Coddou H. the Arminia - Fanzine "At half past three, the world was still in order" out. Together with Coddou, he founded the magazine for football culture 11 friends in April 2000 . He is also the author of several football and sports books and, together with Jessy Wellmer , moderated the show 11 Friends TV , which was broadcast at irregular intervals on rbb from August 2014 . As an avowed Arminia Bielefeld fan, Köster wrote a column in the daily newspaper Neue Westfälische until May 2010 , which was published every game day by Arminia Bielefeld. Together with Jens Kirschneck , he recorded the audio book 90 Minuten Hardcore - 11 Freunde Lesereise live in the Kulturzelt Braunschweig in 2015 , which was also released as a double LP.
Köster was a member of the SPD from his youth until 2002 and rejoined the party in 2019. He is a member of the German Academy for Football Culture . Since 2006 he has been a member of the jury for the "Football Book of the Year" award of the German Football Culture Prize .
Köster is married, has two sons and a daughter and has lived in Berlin since 2002.
