Erich Laaser

Erich Laaser (born December 27, 1951 in Herten ) is a German radio presenter and sports reporter . Since 1993 he has been a commentator for the stations of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group , which has existed since 2000 , where he comments on the DTM .

Life

Laaser first studied political science in Münster and Marburg and graduated with a diploma. The topic of his diploma thesis was "The Football World Cup 1978 in Argentina in the mirror of the daily press". In 1977 he got an internship at Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) , remained a freelancer until 1983 and was finally employed on a permanent basis.

Between 1987 and 1992, Laaser was head of sport at the radio station for HR, for which he also reported on the soccer world championships from 1982 to 1990 and the Summer and Winter Olympics from 1984 to 1992. In 1993 he moved from HR to Sat.1 , where he was Head of Sports Extra and mission ran - Sat.1 Bundesliga match day of the Bundesliga commented. He was also the presenter of the program Ran am Sonntag .

For Sat.1 he moderated various UEFA Cup games between 1997 and 2001 and from the 2007/2008 season (from the quarter-finals). Since the beginning of the 2009/2010 season he has been commenting on games in the Europa League for Sat.1 and Kabel eins (since 2011) as well as games in the Bundesliga for LIGA total! He also commented on boxing matches for Sat.1 from March 2010.

Laaser has been President of the Association of German Sports Journalists (VDS) since 1999 and a member of the Presidium of the international sports journalists' association AIPS since 2001 .

Erich Laaser is an appointed member of the German Academy for Football Culture and sits on the jury for the football slogan of the year at the German Football Culture Prize in 2018 .
