Christian Eichler

Christian Eichler (* 1959 in Wanne-Eickel ) is a German sports journalist who focuses on reports on football . Eichler is the author of several books.

Life

Eichler grew up in Wanne-Eickel; after completing a corresponding degree, he was employed as a qualified librarian at federal ministries in Bonn from 1984 to 1989 . In his spare time he started working as a journalist, which eventually became his profession. He wrote freelance for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Kicker , the world and the world on Sunday. In 1989 he joined the sports department of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. From 2001 to 2009 he initially reported on sport in Europe from Brussels, and since 2009 he has been a sports correspondent for the FAZ, based in Munich.

He is a member of the German Academy for Football Culture .

Eichler is married and has two sons.
