Botanical Garden in Frankfurt (Oder).

The botanical garden on Lienaustraße in Frankfurt (Oder) was planned from 1969 and opened on June 26, 1976 as a plant garden . The Lienau pond in the center of the park was created as a result of the mining of clay for brick production since the 19th century.

R. Zeletzki was responsible for the green space design. Around the pond there are trees such as Colorado firs , cake trees , bluebell trees , gleditschia , several types of willow, rhododendrons , perennials such as daylily , hostas , maiden's eye and grasses such as pennon grass and Chinese reeds on the stair-like areas .

The Linauteich is 6 hectares in size. and about 9 meters deep. His name is reminiscent of the Frankfurt city councilor M. Lienau . The facilities are maintained by the city of Frankfurt (Oder).

To the north it is bounded by the Klingefieß , to the west by the Nuhnenfliess . To date, there are 14 sculptures, including by Werner Stötzer , Jürgen Karnopp , Heinz Mamat and Jürgen von Woyski, as works of art in public space.
