criticism
The publicist Hilmar Klute accused Priol in March 2011 in the features section of the Süddeutsche Zeitung of doing "cabaret on the lowest intellectual denominator". His "vulgar satire , which is marked by linguistic dereliction" is aimed at "an unleashed philistine bourgeoisie that wants all politicians to be on the gallows". Days before, two articles by other authors had appeared in the Süddeutsche Zeitung who sharply criticized an appearance by Priol at an anti-nuclear demonstration in Munich. In this review, the journalist Albrecht Müller identified an "astonishing campaign by the Süddeutsche Zeitung against Urban Priol" in an article by NachDenkSeiten .
In 2014, Gerhard Matzig, in his article entitled “As ironic as Youporn” for the Süddeutsche Zeitung Priol, described the newly started program Ein Fall fürs All as “Visitation” and Priol himself as “obnoxiously boring”. Even Richard Weber gave the show in Tagesspiegel with a slating. It is a “media scene of indignation”, in which Priol offers “unintelligent politician bashing”.
