Frank-Markus Barwasser
Frank-Markus Barwasser (born February 16, 1960 in Würzburg ) is a German journalist and cabaret artist . He is the creator and performer of the figure of Erwin Pelzig .
Life
Frank-Markus Barwasser was born as the fourth of five children of the later Labor Court President Franz H. Barwasser (1919-2018) in Würzburg. His grandfather was Heinrich Barwasser, who was the head of the employment office in Würzburg and was transferred to Cologne as a punishment during the Nazi era. After a two-year internship in a newspaper at Main-Post , Frank-Markus Barwasser studied political science , modern history and ethnology at the universities of Munich and Salamanca . At the beginning of the 1980s he gained his first stage experience at a puppet theater , and in 1985 his cabaret career began.
In the early 1990s, Barwasser worked as a radio reporter for Bayerischer Rundfunk and soon became known for his glosses . In 1993 he appeared on stage for the first time as Erwin Pelzig in the Würzburg Theater am Neunerplatz , the fictional figure whose external trademark is "Cord-Hüdli" (cord hat), red and white checked shirt and men's handbag . The Main Franconian dialect is also characteristic of the figure . Since 1993 several cabaret programs and various recordings with Erwin Pelzig and his unequal friends, the Protestant-conservative Dr. Göbel and the rather simple Hartmut , both of whom are also embodied by Barwasser. The radio program Bayern 3 also broadcast a current radio satire with Erwin Pelzig and his two companions once a week until April 2009 .
From 1998 to 2010, Bavarian TV produced the cabaret talk show Attention! Pelzig is entertaining , which was awarded the Bavarian TV Prize in 2006 and was also broadcast on Erste from October 2007 . In 2007, in collaboration with Thomas Heinemann, the first feature film with Erwin Pelzig was made , the social satire Vorne is damned far away . In April 2010, the play Alkaid - Pelzig has the state in bed , directed by Josef Rödl, premiered in the Munich Residenztheater . Alkaid officially refers to the star, as an allusion to al-Qaeda .
In October 2010, Barwasser took over the role of Georg Schramm as a counterpart to Urban Priol in the cabaret show Neues aus der Anstalt (ZDF), in which he had previously made a regular guest appearance . Together with Priol, he left the institute with the last broadcast on October 1, 2013.
From February 15, 2011, Barwasser hosted the show Pelzig keeps itself (ZDF). On October 15, 2015, Pelzig announced the end of the program at the end of the year on its Internet presence in order to “turn to new ideas and projects”; the last edition was broadcast on December 1, 2015 on ZDF.
At the end of 2014, Barwasser was supposed to take over the role of head of forensics, Michael Schatz, in the new Franconian crime scene of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. Due to scheduling reasons, the character was replaced at short notice and is now played by Matthias Egersdörfer .
Together with Urban Priol, Georg Schramm and Jochen Malmsheimer , he was seen on October 17, 2017 in the 30th episode of the institution .
Barwasser lived in Munich and Würzburg; last in Mainz . During his “creative break” he became the father of a son. In 2017 he is on tour with the stage program Weg von hier .
In the 40th and 45th episodes of Die Anstalt he represented Claus von Wagner .
