Bavarian Culture Prize

The Bavarian Culture Prize of Bayernwerk AG is awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts and Bayernwerk AG (until July 2013 E.ON Bayern AG) . OBAG's traditional East Bavarian Culture Prize, which has existed since 1959, was expanded in 2005 to include the administrative districts of the Bayernwerk network area and renamed accordingly. The award is endowed with a total of 96,000 euros and is presented annually for significant artistic work in the Bavarian regions and outstanding achievements at Bavarian universities.

An independent jury awards one artist each from the administrative districts of Upper Franconia , Lower Franconia , Upper Palatinate , Lower Bavaria and Upper Bavaria . The best graduates and doctoral candidates from technical colleges and universities are also honored. In addition to the four state art colleges, these are the universities of Augsburg , Bamberg , Bayreuth , Erlangen-Nuremberg , LMU Munich , TU Munich , Passau , Regensburg , Würzburg and Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In addition, the best graduates from the following universities of applied sciences receive the Bavarian Culture Prize: Amberg-Weiden , Ansbach , Aschaffenburg , Augsburg , Coburg , Deggendorf , Hof , Ingolstadt , Kempten , Landshut , Munich , Neu-Ulm , Nuremberg , Regensburg , Rosenheim , Weihenstephan-Triesdorf and Würzburg -Schweinfurt .
