Hans Kotter (artist)

Hans Kotter (* 1966 in Mühldorf am Inn , Bavaria ) is a German artist .

Life

Kotter studied at the Art Students League New York until 1994 . He works in the field of photography , concept , object , light and installation art . From 2007 to 2013 he was a lecturer at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart .

In 2004, Kotter was awarded the Bavarian Culture Prize of E.ON Bayern AG, as well as art in building competitions. His works are represented in numerous solo and group exhibitions and art collections around the world. He has lived in Berlin since 2003 .

Works

The works of Hans Kotter concentrate on the physical and artistic basic elements of light - color - space. He is interested in their appearance under different material conditions, their effect. This results in minimalist individual objects and space-consuming installations that often make use of photographic processes.
