Peter Haimerl

Peter Haimerl (born June 3, 1961 in Eben bei Viechtach ) is a German architect .

Life

Haimerl completed his studies at the Munich University of Applied Sciences . After graduating in 1987, he worked in various architecture offices (1987 to 1988 with Günther Domenig Vienna / Graz, 1988 with Raimund Abraham Vienna / New York, 1988 with Klaus Kada Graz / Leibnitz) and from 1988 to 1990 involved in the urban development research project Die open city in office partnership with Paul Schlossbauer and Armin Lixl. In 1991 he founded his own office in Munich. In 2010 he started a sponsorship project with the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation, Building in Existing Buildings. Peter Haimerl was a city ​​planner in his hometown Viechtach from 2015 to 2018 .

Haimerl is married and has two children.

Teaching

He held a teaching position for building construction at the Munich University of Applied Sciences in 1992 and for design from 1994 to 1996. From 1997 to 2001 he conducted a children's workshop on architecture at the Berlin Academy of the Arts . In 2001 he started a research project Zoomtown, in 2005 he started the project Zoomtown Urban Transportation Design in cooperation with the University of Fine Arts Braunschweig as part of a teaching assignment. In 2006 he founded the company gyoscope - algorithms for architecture . From 2009 to 2010 another teaching position for urban planning and digital design at the University of Munich followed. In May 2018, Haimerl was elected as a new member of the architecture section of the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
