He went three times to study in the West African part of the Sahara .

Langhammer made many public and church sculptures, large-scale sculptures and ensembles. Many of them can be seen as art in buildings or in public spaces . For example, in 1978 he produced the granite walk-in cube for the campus of the University of Regensburg . The four meter high bridge sculpture on the Naab Bridge near Etterzhausen on the state road to Kallmünz was made by him in 1978. In 2004 he designed and manufactured the limestone celebration altar , the ambo, the tabernacle and the sedile, as well as a restrained iron grating for the Sailer Chapel of Regensburg Cathedral . For the Waidhaus border crossing on the BAB 6 / D 5 as part of Europastraße 50 , which bears this name as part of Goldenen Straße , he made the “Via Carolina” sculptures on both sides of the border. For example, he also took on the artistic design of the Nardini worship chapel of the Mallersdorf monastery . As part of the renovation and renovation work of the parish church of St. Peter in Wenzenbach under the Brückner & Brückner Architects office , he was responsible for the sculptural work. One of the three steles in Weiden's Max-Reger-Park comes from him. At the 1st Art Summit with objects, sound worlds and light installations in the “GeoPark Kaolinrevier Hirschau-Schnaittenbach” ( Monte Kaolino ), Langhammer was involved in 2000 with his installation “Traces let wings grow or the flight of Icarus”, in which he used black plastic foils 120 meter long staircase on the mountain flank. Even during the Pope's visit to Benedict XVI. in Regensburg in 2006 he took over the artistic design of the tent construction on the altar island on the Islinger Feld . In 2011 he designed the new grave complex for Windberg Abbey .

Many of his sculptures are in public collections. His works have been shown regularly in exhibitions. For example, in 1972 he was the German representative at the international artist symposium “Living Arts” in Johannesburg , South Africa. Since 1999, his works have been on view regularly at the Great East Bavarian Art Exhibition (GOK) of the BBK Niederbayern / Oberpfalz , where he is a member.
