Under the name Franken-Tatort , Bayerischer Rundfunk developed its second team of investigators alongside Batic and Leitmayr (Munich) for the ARD television series Tatort . The fictional investigators Voss, Ringelhahn, Goldwasser, Fleischer and Schatz are active in Franconia . The main characters are the chief detective Paula Ringelhahn , played by Dagmar Manzel , and Felix Voss , played by Fabian Hinrichs . The first episode aired on April 12, 2015.

Characters and performers

Chief Inspector Felix Voss is transferred to Nuremberg , where a homicide investigator had to quit his job because he shot his wife. Voss takes over the management of the Franconian Murder Commission, where he meets Chief Inspector Paula Ringelhahn, who has been a member of the Nuremberg Murder Commission for many years and is now moving with Voss to the new national homicide commission. They are supported in their investigations by Commissioner Wanda Goldwasser (played by Eli Wasserscheid ) and Detective Commissioner Sebastian Fleischer ( Andreas Leopold Schadt ); Michael Schatz, embodied by cabaret artist Matthias Egersdörfer , who stood in for Frank-Markus Barwasser at short notice, is the head of forensics for the new homicide squad . Police President Dr. Kaiser is played by Stefan Merki . Dagmar Manzel had made it a condition for her role to play as a "normal" commissioner: "I said I don't want any illness, no quirks, no child in the home, no mother who dies of cancer."

After Fabian Hinrichs' guest appearance in the Munich Tatort episode The Deep Sleep from 2012, in which he played investigator Gisbert Engelhardt, who was lying dead next to a snack bar at the end of the episode, Bayerischer Rundfunk was popular with many viewers for the short Guest performance criticized by Hinrichs. Numerous viewers spoke up in letters to the editor and via social networks and demanded the return of the deceased investigator. In Facebook , a group that did their own crime scene format wished for Hinrichs was formed. Bayerischer Rundfunk met these wishes with the broadcast of the first episode of the Franconian crime scene Heaven is a place on earth on April 12, 2015.

The development of the Franken-Tatort was headed by the editor Stephanie Heckner , as was the BR's homeland crime series.
