characters
Charlotte Lindholm
Charlotte Lindholm was born on September 15, 1968 in Lüneburg , where her parents ran a pharmacy. She grew up in the small town and attended kindergarten and school there. Charlotte was not an easy child, she played various pranks on the neighbors and sometimes bought a candy bar in the supermarket. In general, she wasn't too specific about honesty. In the place she was dubbed "wild Lotte". She campaigned against nuclear power early on . Her best friend at the time, Manu Seehausen ( Karoline Eichhorn ), she relaxed her boyfriend. After she first started studying medicine in Göttingen after passing her Abitur and married her much older professor at the age of 18, she changed her mind and attended the police school in Hann. Münden to start training as a career changer in the senior police force. She completed her training as the best of her year. Then she worked at the State Criminal Police Office in Hanover. Their official investigations lead them to various cities and villages in Lower Saxony. The chief inspector also teaches at the Lower Saxony Police Academy . Since the back office is not Lindholm's thing, she is happy to have to cope with changing tasks in new places. Since her ability to work in a team is “zero”, as her boss, detective director Stefan Bitomsky, put it, it suits her way of working to deal with changing colleagues. However, Lindholm is often assisted by clumsy police officers, whom she usually gets to know at the crime scene. These are either overwhelmed by the situation or so well integrated into the village community that they hinder Lindholm's work rather than support it. Nevertheless, Charlotte Lindholm tries to involve these colleagues in the investigation as far as possible.
Lindholm determines factually and purposefully, is confident in her appearance and lets her humor shine through again and again. The power woman is ambitious and does not give up until she has solved a case. Mostly she is dressed in a sporty and practical manner and appears unpretentious. Very often she carries a large shoulder bag across her shoulder and now and then a hat.
After their two-year marriage, Lindholm divorced her unfaithful husband and moved into the spacious apartment of her fellow student at the time, Martin Felser, who looked after her and always had an open ear for her. He also accepted her collecting trick and tried to bring order into her chaos as best he could. Although Martin saw more in her than just a good friend, a love affair never came about. For Charlotte Martin is a special friend who helps her and whom she can lean on in case of problems and who can be relied on in every life situation. She likes to live with him, but that doesn't go beyond friendly feelings.
To the chagrin of her mother Annemarie, Charlotte usually takes it for granted that she and Martin are available to her. This is particularly the case after Lindholm comes back pregnant after training in Spain , where she had an affair with a colleague from Sitges , Catalonia . After the birth of her son David, the working mother is particularly dependent on the help of her mother and the good-natured Martin. From then on, Martin is even more responsible for organizing daily life with a toddler. When the loyal friend suddenly moves out of the apartment without prior notice and leaves Charlotte and her child to fend for themselves, it is a heavy blow for the inspector.
Although Lindholm seems cool and rather aloof and sometimes appears rather narrow-minded, as she herself admits, she is sensitive and passionate. She tries to cope with the difficult situation on her own first and withdraws into herself. In doing so, she sometimes gets lost.
Men have usually only played an episode role in the Commissioner's life. Once, however, she seemed to have found great love in Secretary of State Tobias Endres ( Hannes Jaenicke ), whom she met in her 5th case, Märchenwald . Her luck was ended by a fatal shot resulting in shortness of breath . Her relationship with Rolf Jacobi ( Heikko Deutschmann ) ended with the fact that she had to arrest him. She gave the young pathologist Edgar ( David Rott ) no future chance. Her love for Jan Liebermann ( Benjamin Sadler ) also ends because Charlotte is convinced that because of his background, they would not have a chance.
After she made a serious investigation error in The Holdt case , Lindholm was transferred to Göttingen as a punishment.
Martin Felser
The crime writer Martin Felser, played by Ingo Naujoks , born around the mid-1960s, shared his old apartment in Hanover with Charlotte Lindholm. He harbored a secret love for her, cared for her and could hardly refuse her any wish. There was a close relationship of trust between the two. Martin is weird, talented and a little hypochondriac .
After the success of his detective novels, he was offered readings at home and abroad. He also taught successfully for a while as a visiting professor in Hong Kong and was in demand as an advisor for crime anthologies .
He was Charlotte's rock, so to speak, and stood by her not only with the care of David, but also when she had to deal with the death of Tobias. Charlotte's mother Annemarie would have liked to see her daughter and Martin become lovers. All attempts by Martin in this direction were blocked by Charlotte.
Ultimately, Felser decided to go his own way and left their apartment without announcing it beforehand. At first, he did not respond to Charlotte's request for a call back. However, he continued to telephone regularly with Annemarie Lindholm and also kept in contact with David.
Anaïs Schmitz
The impulsive Anaïs Schmitz ( Florence Kasumba ) is Lindholms colleague in Göttingen. The dark-skinned commissioner has problems keeping aggression under control, which often causes her problems in everyday police work. The relationship between Lindholm and Schmitz is initially characterized by mutual dislike and confrontation, also because both are used to investigating alone.
