Charly Huebner (actually Carsten Johannes Marcus Huebner ; born December 4, 1972 in Neustrelitz ) is a German theater , film and television actor and director .

Life

As the son of innkeepers Johannes and Margitta Hübner, Charly Hübner grew up in Feldberg - Carwitz ( Neustrelitz district ). He gained his first acting experience in an amateur theater. After graduating from EOS Clara Zetkin (now Gymnasium Carolinum ) Neustrelitz in 1991 , he worked at the Landestheater Neustrelitz as an acting eleve and assistant director .

In 1993 he began studying at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . During his studies he got to know the theater directors Tom Kühnel and Robert Schuster . Together they worked on productions for the Maxim-Gorki-Theater and the Schaubühne in Berlin , and from 1997 also for the Schauspielhaus and the TAT in Frankfurt am Main . Between 1996 and 2002, Hübner worked with directors Amélie Niermeyer , Peter Eschberg , Hans Hollmann and Christian Tschirner , among others . In 2008, after a long break, he continued his theater work at the Schauspielhaus Zurich . From 2011 he played at the Schauspiel Köln under the direction of Karin Beier , who he followed in 2013 at the Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg.

In 2003, Hübner moved from the stage in front of the camera. In many supporting roles in films, he first appeared as an actor for the 'little people' or as a 'good friend'. In 2005 alone he took part in 17 film projects. He gained additional fame through a commercial for Dresdner Bank . He experienced a career boost in 2006 when he appeared in the Oscar- winning film The Lives of Others , where he played a Stasi sergeant major who took over the surveillance of the officer portrayed by Ulrich Mühe at night .

In 2007, Hübner was given a leading role as coroner Dr. Thomas Renner in the RTL crime series Post Mortem . He also played leading roles in the movie Autopiloten and in the ZDF social drama Beyond Death . He has appeared in the Sat.1 comedy series Ladykracher since 2008 as a sketch partner of Anke Engelke . Since 2010, Charly Hübner and Anneke Kim Sarnau have formed the investigative duo Bukow and König in the Rostock Police Call 110 episodes of the NDR . For the cases of enemy image and ... and you're out of it , the two received a nomination for the Grimme Prize 2012, the episode Fischerkrieg brought Hübner the Bavarian TV Prize in 2013 . He also received a lot of praise from the critics for his leading role as a sociopath in the psychodrama Unter Nachbarn , for which he also received the Golden Camera 2013 as “Best German Actor”. In 2012 he could be seen in the internationally co-produced action series Transporter as the mechanic Dieter. In 2013 Charly Hübner made his first small documentary as a director. For the ARD documentation 16 × Germany , he delivered the part about Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . In 2017 he presented his documentary Wildes Herz about the band Feine Sahne Fischfilet at the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film , which was honored with four prizes.

Charly Hübner is married to the actress Lina Beckmann and lives in Hamburg .
