Feine Sahne Fischfilet is a political punk band from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Band and style of music

Fine cream fish fillet was founded in 2007 by five students. On their first released album there were songs with sexist text passages, from which the band has now distanced itself. Singer Jan Gorkow , called Monchi , said: “We were 18, 19 years old. If this album weren't sold out, we wouldn't sell it anymore. ”Concerts took place mainly in the rural areas of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where more and more neo-Nazis were gathering according to their own account . The band then positioned themselves and organized their own security measures.

Individuals of the band were previously active in the Hansa Rostock fan scene . Monchi often wore T-shirts from the ultra group Suptras at concerts . If the song Ostrava is still dedicated to the Rostock fan scene, the song no tear describes the turn away from it. In an interview with the Nuremberg fanzine Ya Basta in 2012, however, Monchi explains that he is now again interested in fan culture and Hansa Rostock. There are also some references to Hansa Rostock and its fan scene on the album Sturm und Dreck , which was released in 2018 . In the song Where never ebb is the musicians confess to celebrate the club's relegation in the 3rd division like the championship; In the song Nobody Like You Monchi describes the gratitude to his parents who, despite numerous, sometimes serious problems, stood by him through his fan activity.

The band, which is inspired by the fruits of anger , sums up their music as follows: “What we do is not art […], not for the gallery, not for the glass case. [It] should be a kind of tool to give a voice to our anger against racists , sexists , homophobia and the state. ”Singer Monchi later refrained from this quote and emphasized the band's will to develop musically. It also sees itself as political: “...  Antifascism is not an empty phrase for us. We are aware that the neo-Nazis, no matter how modern and close to the people they appear, remain barbaric and inhumane. It is important to counteract this! "

The music magazine Visions describes their music as punk rock , which is “not modern” and still works today “as it has always worked. With anger, heart and attitude ”. The punk magazine Ugly Punk locates the music "from ska-punk to German punk and from English-speaking punk smasher to poppy indie ballads". Due to the piece Staatsgewalt on the debut album Backstage mit Freunde , a test procedure was initiated by the federal testing agency for media harmful to minors. According to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Criminal Police Office , the lyrics encourage violence among listeners. The album was ultimately not indexed.

The band was mentioned because of its "explicitly anti-state stance" in the 2011 report on the protection of the constitution of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on "almost two pages". For example, before an NPD demonstration in Rostock in 2010, they are said to have published instructions for a Molotov cocktail on their website under the heading “for resistance on the street” . According to the band, however, this was merely a link to a poster with the slogan Club Molli , which was circulated in spring 2012 as a satirical article on various blogs and as a print version. The band sued against the naming. The Schwerin Administrative Court rejected the punk band's urgent appeal on April 4, 2013. The band had "given no reasons from which a special urgency resulted". The necessary reason for the order is lacking, because it is reasonable for the applicant to wait for a decision on the main issue. The band appealed against this. According to the decision of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Higher Administrative Court on June 6, 2013 (Az. 2 M 110/13), the band may initially continue to be listed as left-wing extremists in the state's report on the protection of the constitution . The OVG saw "sufficient factual evidence [suspicion] that the music group formed by the applicant was making efforts that are directed against the free democratic basic order ."

In the 2012 report on the protection of the constitution of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania the band u. a. with reference to members who had been convicted of criminal law, mentioned again on two pages, whereupon the band declared that they would continue to call against right-wing extremist demonstrations and events in the future .

The music magazine Intro called the mention of Feine Sahne Fischfilet in the Verfassungsschutz report as advertising, since it was now "on everyone's lips" and called the band a "credible alternative to the brown swamp that holds large parts of the state in its claws." You The Audiolith label should be "happy" because "after Egotronic, they have the second official enemies of the state in the catalog". In 2014, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania constitutional protection agency lost a lawsuit for a photo of the band in the constitution protection report 2012. On January 10th 2009 the band played a concert in Greifswald with the bands The toten Crackhuren im trunk , Ostmaul and Total Panic Reaction . The album Backstage with Friends was also released. The original plan was to hold the concert in Loitz , but it was postponed at short notice due to a risk forecast by the police. The group's appearances were often banned, including an appearance in 2009 at the Antifa Festival in Loitz, which was prevented by the local mayor.

On February 28th, 2009 the band played at 3 Years Antifaschistische Aktion Bernau with the bands Juri Gagarin , Kein Plan , Pandora and Ökonom .

To release the album Failure and Understanding , the group organized an anti-fascist day of action in November 2012, at which the Thuringian left-wing politician Katharina König-Preuss (MdL) was present. The bands and musicians The true two and the villagers , Kobito and Egotronic were there .

In the summer of 2014, the band performed for the first time at more well-known festivals such as the Hurricane Festival and its younger sister festival , the Southside . On June 6th 2015 the band played at the open-air festival Rock am Ring and on June 7th at the sister festival Rock im Park . On July 4, 2015, there was an appearance at the Vainstream Rockfest in Münster in the morning , and on the same evening the band appeared as the opening act for the Beatsteaks ' 20th anniversary concert in Wuhlheide in Berlin. On May 28, 2016, the band opened their summer with a performance at the Modular Festival in Augsburg.

On January 12, 2018, the album Sturm & Dreck was released , which reached number 3 in the German charts a week later.

Feine Sahne Fischfilet performed at the open-air concert on September 3, 2018 under the motto “ We are more ” in Chemnitz , which was held in response to the riots in the city . The media and politicians accused him of supporting left-wing extremists with regard to his participation in Feine Sahne Fischfilet.

The recording of a concert by the ZDF in the Bauhaus Dessau was planned for November 6, 2018 . This concert was canceled by the Bauhaus for fear of protests. Later on, the Dessau theater canceled a performance by the band. On October 22, 2018, the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau announced that it would be available for the band to perform and withdrew the cancellation. The concert and its recording by ZDF took place in the "Alte Brauerei" in Dessau. The ARD reported on it in the Tagesthemen under the title Brauhaus instead of Bauhaus .

On November 14, 2018, the screening of the documentary film Wildes Herz about the band's commitment against right-wing ideology in East Germany in a school in Bad Schwartau was canceled due to a firearms and explosives threat.

The next day, a concert by the band in the alternative youth center in Chemnitz had to be interrupted for over an hour after a telephone bomb threat had been received by the police.

In November 2019, the group obtained a cease and desist declaration against the Berlin-Spandau district office. This had indicated that the band had given out glass bottles to the audience at a concert in the Spandau Citadel in August and thus violated safety regulations. However, these were plastic bottles. In October the district office published a correction on this. The CDU parliamentary group in Spandau also deleted the post that contained these claims.

"Not completely screwed up" campaign

In mid-2016 the band started a campaign “Not completely fucked up yet. Holding together against the shift to the right ”. Various events and actions in small towns and villages are intended to strengthen the cohesion of the people who oppose the right-wing movement in the state. Events took place in Ribnitz-Damgarten , Greifswald, Wolgast, Rostock, Parchim and a number of other locations in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. At the event with Patrick Gensing , which took place in the Anklam Democracy Station , the band also organized a concert with rapper Marteria at short notice . Within only 24 hours , around 2000 people were mobilized for this concert, which took place on the station forecourt in Anklam . The Düsseldorf rock musician Campino der Toten Hosen also appeared as a surprise guest .

A response to the concert was a tweet from the Federal Minister of Justice Heiko Maas , who praised Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Marteria and Campino for their commitment. While Feine Sahne Fischfilet spoke out against this appropriation, numerous Twitter users and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Interior Minister Lorenz Caffier ( CDU ) criticized Maas for supporting a band monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. At the end of the campaign, on September 3, 2016, on the eve of the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the band gave a home game in the Motoball Arena Jarmen in front of over 2000 visitors.

Awards

In 2013 the band was voted 2nd in the Courage Prize of the left-wing parliamentary group in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament .
