Mike Singer (born January 20, 2000 in Kehl ) is a German pop singer and songwriter .

Life

Singer grew up as the son of Russian-German parents from Kazakhstan in Offenburg . From the age of twelve he concentrated almost exclusively on music. Self-taught, he composes and writes songs that he produced at home. In 2012, in addition to cover songs by international musicians - such as Impossible by James Arthur - he also started posting his own songs online. In 2013 he took part in the casting show The Voice Kids and joined Lena Meyer-Landrut's team, but was selected again in the following battle round . 2014 he published an English-language album titled Only You .

Without a record deal, he recorded the EP Nur mit Dir in 2015 and made his first live appearances. In 2018, Singer reached 1.5 million subscribers on Instagram , more than 350,000 Facebook fans and over 700,000 YouTube subscribers. In February 2017, Warner Music Group released his German-language debut album Karma , with which he went on tour. In Germany it rose to number 1 on the album charts. In 2017/2018 he played the role of Luke in the Spotlight series . He presented the title song of his second album Deja Vu in February 2018 as part of the show Our Song for Lisbon and sat next to Max Giesinger and Mary Roos on the German jury for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 . In November 2018 he won the MTV European Music Award for Best German Act .

In 2020 he took second place as Wuschel in the second season of the ProSieben show The Masked Singer . In May 2020 he took part in the Free European Song Contest for Kazakhstan and came in 14th out of 16 participants.

In 2021 he will be a member of the jury for the 18th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar alongside Dieter Bohlen , Maite Kelly and Michael Wendler .
