Kay One (2016)

Kay One (also Prince Kay One ; real name Kenneth Glöckler ; born September 7, 1984 in Friedrichshafen ) is a German rapper .

Life

Kay One grew up in Ravensburg as the second of three sons of a German and a Filipina . Influenced by his older brother, he started rapping when he was 13.

Beginnings

At the age of 17 he got his first record deal with Royal Bunker together with rapper Jaysus , through rapper Kool Savas . Together the artists called themselves Chablife. After separating in 2005, Kay One signed the German Dream label with Eko Freshs . After he noticed that he could not achieve the success he had hoped for with this record label, he moved from Cologne to Lake Constance for financial reasons . At the end of December 2006 he got to know Bushido and in 2007 switched to his label ersguterjunge .

Kay One gained first notoriety through guest posts on albums by other hip-hop musicians and songs that he offered for free on the Internet. He received further attention through his contributions to the ersguterjunge sampler Alles Gute geht von unten (2007) and because of his close collaboration with Bushido, including as a back-up rapper. The single All good comes from below , which he recorded together with Bushido and Chakuza , hit the charts in Germany and Austria . During his time at ersguterjunge, Kay One supported Bushido in the dispute against the Aggro Berlin label by releasing the Disstrack S.IDO with Bushido .

Kay One later produced the song Live 2 Live , in which he attacked Sido , who belonged to the Aggro Berlin label. At the end of 2010, Sido and Bushido made peace and released the album 23 , on which Kay One also had a guest contribution. Kay One played a supporting role in Bushido's 2010 film Times Change You . He was previously on the soundtrack of the film Horst Schlämmer - Isch is a candidate! represented. In early 2009, Kay One won a Juice Award in the Newcomer category .

Kenneth Home Alone (2010)

On May 7, 2010, Kay One's debut album, Kenneth Home Alone , was released. It includes features from Fler , Bushido , Philippe , Gynecologist , Nyze and Kay One's former rap colleague Benny Blanko. Rich Kidz (2013)

Conflict with Bushido (since 2012)

On April 10, 2012, Kay One announced that he would say goodbye to the ersguterjunge label . Five days earlier, Bushido had registered the word mark “Kay One” with the German Patent and Trademark Office . Kay One commented negatively about it and said that one wanted to end his career. An objection was initially raised against the registration of the word mark, and a year later an application for deletion was made.

In May 2012, Kay One said he was attacked with knives by masked people after two appearances, but he was not injured. He accused Bushido of having sent these people and then accused him of a crime; Bushido expressed himself publicly and denied these allegations.

In May 2013, Bushido's colleague Shindy , who was also in an argument with Kay One, brought out the Disstrack Alcoholized Pedophiles . In this, he assumed Kay One, among other things, that he (Shindy) had written the lyrics for Kay for the album Prince of Belvedair without ever getting any money from Kay. Kay One then described Bushido on Facebook as a hate preacher and his activity as a purest "promo move".

Since Kay One's publications about Bushido's relationship with the Abou Chaker clan , he has been under police protection as he received death threats.

After an announcement in August 2014, the answer to Bushido's Disstrack finally appeared on November 28, 2014 in the form of a 25-minute video entitled Judgment Day . In this, he reflects on his entire rap career from his own point of view, describes how he was initially supposed to be signed by Kool Savas , but then conveyed to Royal Bunker by him.
