Pietro Lombardi (singer)
Pietro Lombardi (born June 9, 1992 in Karlsruhe ) is a German singer who became known in 2011 as the winner of the 8th season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS).
Life
Pietro Lombardi is of Italian descent on his father's side and grew up with an older brother and a younger sister in his native Karlsruhe. After leaving secondary school without a degree , he began an apprenticeship as a painter and varnisher , which he broke off. In a BEJ he made up his secondary school diploma . In addition, he worked as a pizza maker and a mini-job to 400-euro basis as Swarovski - stone laying in the workshop of a jewelery business.
In his childhood and youth he played soccer at Karlsruher SC , including in the B-Junior Bundesliga . He had to give up the goal of being a professional footballer after a broken tibia and fibula at the age of 16. Then he discovered music and singing for himself and received the first positive response after uploading his song Green Eyes on YouTube .
In March 2013 he married his former DSDS final opponent Sarah Engels , with whom he had been in a relationship since 2011. A son was born in June 2015. The couple separated in October 2016; the marriage was divorced in 2019.

The candidate in Germany is looking for the superstar
In the finale of the eighth season of DSDS , 18-year-old Lombardi was chosen as the winner, having previously occupied first or second place in each round. The decision show was staged by RTL as a “dream couple finale”, in which Lombardi and his final opponent and friend Sarah Engels appeared in wedding clothes, among other things.

2011–2012: Jackpot and Pietro Style albums
The winning song Call My Name , composed by Dieter Bohlen , had sold over 300,000 times after a week and was awarded platinum . Lombardi's version of Call My Name reached number 1 in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland ; Lombardi's first album Jackpot followed on May 27 .
On June 17, 2011, Sarah Engels' first single, I Miss You , appeared on which he sings in a duet with her. The single reached number 2 in the German charts. On November 11, 2011, Lombardi's single Goin 'to LA was released; on December 2, 2011 his second studio album Pietro Style followed . The album and single were again produced by Dieter Bohlen. Both the single and the album did not make it into the top 10. In 2012, Lombardi won an award in the Favorite Star Germany, Austria and Switzerland category at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards .
2013: Album Dream Team
His third album, a duet album with Sarah Engels, is called Dream Team and was released on March 22, 2013. It was the first album that was not produced by Dieter Bohlen. The title song had already been released as a single a week earlier. The album received mixed to poor reviews from music critics. While the media counter wrote that Lombardi's and Angel's voices harmonized, laut.de described the album as “foreign shame”.
Appearances in documentary soaps and TV shows
Lombardi competed against his wife on the ProSieben entertainment show Clash! In July 2013 . Boom! Bang! to where he was defeated by Engels. In November 2013, both were on RTL in the reality show Der VIP-Bus - Celebrities on package tour , in which they were accompanied on a bus tour through Italy. Lombardi and Engels were represented in the musical program of the TOGGO tour 2014 through Germany from May to the end of August. In July 2014 RTL broadcast the celebrity edition of the family duel, in which the Lombardi team won against the team around heavyweight lifter Matthias Steiner . In 2014 he took part in the TV total high diving with Simon Desue . In March 2015, the documentary soap Sarah & Pietro… build a house was broadcast on RTL II . Sarah and Pietro followed in June 2015 ... have their baby and in the spring of 2016 Sarah & Pietro with the mobile home through Italy .
