With You is a song by the American musician Chris Brown . It was released on December 11, 2007 as the third single from Brown's third studio album Exclusive , whereupon it reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 , position eight in the British charts and number 33 in the German single charts . To date, around 2,340,000 CDs have been sold.

Music video

The music video was filmed in Los Angeles on November 20, 2007 , directed by Erik White , who had previously worked with Brown in this capacity. Brown himself acted as co-director. The clip was shown for the first time on December 3, 2007. In an interview with MTV , he also said that this video was more focused on him. This time he did without disturbing background noises. At the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards , the clip won a prize in the “Best Male Video” category. He had prevailed against Usher , Flo Rida , Lil Wayne and TI .

success

reception

Bill Lamb gave the song 4.5 out of five stars and characterized it as the "perfect slow dance alternative". He went on to add that while Brown is delighting countless young fans, he has not yet released a first-class romantic performance. That title would be that performance. He described the lyrics as "sometimes too easy". He was also of the opinion that the title helped Brown to prove that he was not only a great dancer, but that he could really communicate with the audience through his voice.
