Tyga (born November 19, 1989 in Compton , California ; real name Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson ) is an American rapper and music producer who was under contract with the Young Money Entertainment label from 2007 to 2014 . His international breakthrough came in 2009, especially with the song Rack City . The name "Tyga" is an acronym for " T hank Y ou G od A lways". He is also known under the name "T-Raww", mostly through his self-produced videos, but also through his LA Gear-produced sports shoes "T-Raww Runners". The name of his own fashion brand and music label is "Last Kings", where z. B. Honey Cocaine or AE are employed.

Earlier life

Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson was born in Compton , California . At the age of eleven, he and his family moved to Gardena , which is also in California. He is of both Vietnamese and Jamaican descent. His early interest in musicians like Fabolous , Lil Wayne , Cam'ron and Eminem influenced his later musical style.

The origin of his pseudonym is inconclusive, as he said his mother gave him the nickname " Tiger Woods " at the time . Tyga met urban model and stripper Blac Chyna for the first time on October 5, 2011 at the FAME tour after party with Chris Brown at the King of Diamonds Club in Miami. She starred shortly after in Tyga's official music video for his track Rack City . 2007–2012: musical beginnings and breakthrough

He first came into the music business in 2007 through his cousin Travie McCoy . After Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson had released several mixtapes , his debut album No Introduction was released on June 10, 2008 , which already made its first commercial success and is considered to be his debut in the US album charts. Then DJs and producers like DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar became aware of him and started working with him. In 2010 he then recorded the 20-track mixtape Fan of a Fan together with the American singer and rapper Chris Brown , which was released that same year. After releasing more mixtapes, his second album Careless World - Rise of the Last King was originally planned for 2011, but was postponed: first to January 24, 2012, and later to February 21. It was released in Germany on March 13, 2012. Tyga had previously had his greatest success in the single charts with the single Rack City . The song reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 . 2013–2014: Hotel California & Well Done 4

Tyga (2010)

On April 7, 2013, Tyga released his third studio album Hotel California . He collaborated with artists such as Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, The Game and Wiz Khalifa, among others . In particular, Cool & Dre , David DA Doman and once again DJ Mustard appeared as producers . Hotel California surpassed the success of its previous album Carless World and advanced to the top 10 of the US album chart and also for the first time in the German album charts. 2015: Ride Out / Fan Of A Fan: The Album

On February 16, 2015, the song Ride Out in collaboration with Kid Ink , Rich Homie Quan , YG and Wale appeared on the Internet without any promotion . The official music video also premiered on the same day. Ride Out is the title track from the Fast & Furious 7 soundtrack album and was also released as a single. The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty

He landed another great success in 2014 with the song Wait for a Minute , released in 2013 , which he recorded in collaboration with the Canadian singer Justin Bieber . It hit the singles charts in over 10 countries, including top 10 placements in Belgium and Denmark. The title should form a first pre-release of his following studio album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty , which he discarded. 2018–2019: Legendary
