Ryan Lewis (born March 25, 1988 in Spokane , Washington ) is an American musician and record producer who is best known for his collaboration in the duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis .

biography

Ryan Lewis was born on March 25, 1988. He attended high school in Ferris Spokane, Washington and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle . He studied at the University of Washington in focus Comparative History of Ideas . From an early age he was active as a guitarist in various rock bands before he got involved in audio productions. On January 1st, 2009 he released his solo album Instrumentals . On November 6, 2009, the album Symmetry / Ryan Lewis LP was released together with the rapper Symmetry .

In addition to his work as a DJ and music producer, Lewis began to be interested in photography from the age of 15 . He became a professional photographer and started working as a photo designer for Macklemore in the summer of 2006 . The two became friends and began to work together musically. At the end of 2008, after various joint productions, they founded an independent project under the name Macklemore & Ryan Lewis . In 2012 and 2016 they released two internationally successful albums together and had several hits together.

In 2017, Ryan Lewis married his childhood friend Jackie Ganger.
